Up Ahead Places is already turned on, it makes no difference.

I was wondering if reinstalling the Tread app might help, thinking about it, the info is stored on the XT2 device so Tread shouldn’t play any part in it.

Garmin must be aware of the various issues/foibles with their devices but appear uninterested. Like all big faceless corporations, any attempt to complain just falls upon deaf ears. They’re not interested in the people who actually buy their products.

TBH it shouldn’t be a case of try this setting or try that, in the hope it might start working properly again. It should just work as intended; but if for some reason it doesn’t, there should be a readily available solution. Sadly, as we’re well aware, this isn’t the case.

If it wasn’t for this forum and people such as yourself, users would be left high and dry with nowhere to turn. Garmin should have a representative monitoring this forum.

I’ve used various Garmin devices for years, personally I think they’ve lost interest in the motorcycle gps satnav market, which is probably a small part of their business. A shame really, but a sign of the times, people can now just use their phone to provide most of the functionality of a sat-nav device.

Next time I am out, I will try to find routes that have speed cameras - there aren't many round here. I'm on the edge of North Yorkhsire and N Yorkshire police don't use static cameras, they have sophisticated camera vans and motorcycles that change location every hour - but I know where there are some if I head off in the other direction.

I have often wondered why Garmin would create a motorcycle satnav that prefers to route along faster roads.
Either the programmers have not been briefed properly, have unreasonable time targets and time constraints, are just lazy or there is another agenda that requires satnavs not to route along quiet country lanes for other reasons. A bit like the wartime practice of removing road signs.

But I'll go out and check next time I'm on the bike. I can get the banner at the top of the screen to appear under simulation though. The little icon on the map ? Not sure.
Have owned Zumo 550, 660 == Now have Zumo XT2, XT, 595, 590, Headache
Use Basecamp (mainly), MyRouteApp (sometimes), Competent with Tread for XT2, Can use Explore for XT - but it offers nothing that I want !

Re ‘Safety’ cameras, a friend and I had noticed they didn’t seem to be alerting as normal. I’m on an XT2 and he’s on a 346. After visiting the Garmin support section, I did everything it asked which was to first delete .gpi files (I deleted them all as it’s not obvious which are the correct ones). After that, I reinstalled my maps via GE to install any wrongly deleted files and updated Red Light Cameras. This can only be done via GE though apparently Tread then keeps them current on a daily basis.

The other thing of note is that Garmin states they will only alert if you are within 10% below the speed limit or any speed over. I’d been running simulations of a route near my home that has two cameras on a stretch of road. Only one of them would alert and only in one direction (the way that it could have pinged me though it’s forward facing so not! 😁).
I’m not sure what speed the Garmin simulator makes you ride.

Anyway, I’m still not sure it has fixed the issue or if it’s not an issue or it’s all broken as I’ve not been out again since. Worth a look though.
