ok, I need some windows help here. I got a new PC like 4 months ago. I have BC up and running, I want to back up all my tracks and whatnot. I did a search for the folder BC defaults to for saving...........cant seem to find it.
Windows 10
Re: Windows 10
I think you may have to go into the folder view settings and set it so you can see hidden files.

Yes, that's possible, although the default folder should be visible? Anyway if a search doesn't find AllData.gdb then hidden files may indeed be the issue.

Re: Windows 10
Somewhere in the "C" drive on my laptop there's a folder called
"Roaming" in it there's a sub folder,
"Garmin" in it there's a sub folder,
"Basecamp" in it there's a sub folder,
"Database" in it there's a sub folder,
"4.6" which has the data needed to swap from one PC to another, which I used to do when I had a laptop for home use, and one I took away with me.
I strongly suspect that the roaming folder is a hidden one.

Re: Windows 10
When I changed pc I did a “backup” on old pc then a restore from that file on new.
The advantage was that all my bought is maps were included in the backup without having to connect a device

Re: Windows 10
Did a search for Garmin.........found my old tracks from Mapsource.
FInally found it, GARMIN ---> BC---> Data base---> 4.7--->
there is 2 AllData(s)
.gdb and a gdb.bak
But I cannot navigate to it or see the path to get to the folder

Re: Windows 10
You should be able to go into Edit, Options, General then click on plus under Database options and navigate to it.

Re: Windows 10
Note that you can have as many databases as you want. They all get saved in the same general location. Switch from one to the other from within Basecamp. I put details in the Zumo And Basecamp document I posted a little while back. I'm currently modifying it to include specifics for Zumo 595. When I get to my Pc, I'll post the relevant information here.
Nb I have no problem accessing the database location from within Windows 10. I always have it set to show hidden files though. I didn't think that they were hidden. Most of them are ones that I have created though. I'll check.

Have owned Zumo 550, 660 == Now have Zumo XT2, XT, 595, 590, Headache
Use Basecamp (mainly), MyRouteApp (sometimes), Competent with Tread for XT2, Can use Explore for XT - but it offers nothing that I want !
Links: Zumo 590/5 & BC . . . Zumo XT & BC
