Zumo Update 21 April 2023 - Query - what was it ?

Well I plugged in the XT and loaded Express.

I thought it was telling me that a new version of Express needed to be loaded, so I set it off and went away. When I came back express was on the screen and it was telling me that I needed to unplug the XT and wait 5 seconds and then reconnect. The again. And when the XT started it needed to load the software update, which took some time. And then it needed to restart again.

When it had finished it still had version 6.50 installed.

Does anyone know what was being installed - clearly it wasn't Express - or it wasn't just Express - it is v7.16.3.0 which is what I think I had anyway - and the keep running in the background wasn't ticked - which it resets each time. Clearly, I wasn't paying attention.

I didn't see a list of what was about to be installed.

If anyone gets a message to install new software, can you please get a screen shot of what it is that is being added. It seemd to be something quite serious from the number of restarts that it required.

My Express is up to date so I will plug my zumo in and see what it says

Mine only shows a timezone map update which I have been ignoring for awhile.

Interesting. My CN NA 2024.10 map .img file is dated 5 Feb, 2023. I don't recall how long it was available before I installed it. That is a big difference in release dates if CN UK has just come out.

Via WiFi (no Express involved) it's calling for Time Zone Map version 33.00 and iOverlander Worldwide POIs version 2024.20. No real firmware, no maps.

It wasn't any of those. It says that they are still to install.
How odd. It did something and 3 restarts.

Map numbering isn't in step between NA and EU so release dates are immaterial. Same numbered maps have always varied by months. They were closer when Garmin map updates were issued 4 times a year, now they can be months apart.
