I could only hear turns and exits on my previous Tomtom Rider.
I'm hearing street names with the Zumo, which is not bad if I'm navigating near by home (at least I get to know the street names around).
Now when I'm on a long trip street names are really not meaningful to me.
Is there a way to adjust the verbose level on the Zumo?

I think that choosing another voice comes without street names.
In Waze it's like that, on the zumo I haven't tested it yet...

Re: Navigation verbose level
Garmin is USA based where they seem to like to use road names rather than only using road numbers. No-one unfortunately in the history of Garmin GPSR's has managed to only get the road numbers to be pronounced instead of road names AFAIK. It would be useful in built up areas for it to be selectable road names or road numbers.

That's not too bad, guess I'll have to live with it.
I do find useful that the waypoints are read, it's a nice feature.

Try a different voice - as @B_M_A suggested.
Some of them don't do the full text to speech TTS conversion. It has been a long while since I experimented with that but I think the TTS voices give more detail.
On the XT it has 'Garmin speaks real directions' in the keyboard and language section, underneath some voices.

Today, I discovered something really important. I found another way that doesn't work.
