I think I will keep my old car GPS, with unlimited map updates, for a while.

That will allow me to download the map (CN North America NT in my case) on my PC.

Firmware 6.10 is out, which is supposed to fix OSM routing.

Changelog:
- Fixed an issue where the device could not route on third-party maps.

After updating firmware to 6.1, I get an error message saying "there was a problem communicating with Zumo XT. An error occured while reading the following file(s): GPX/current.gpx".
Can anyone guide me through what I should be looking at to solve this issue.

Just delete that file. Your device will recreate it.

Just to confirm - v6.10 of the firmware does NOT show the same problem with OSM Maps that was present with v5.90.

Now with just OSM maps active, the XT is able to calculate a route using the OSM maps. Previously it had given a message indicating that it could not calculate a route.

A neat little addition is a replacement for Filling Stations:- Fuel Prices ! I guess it is getting the information through the Drive App on my smartphone - but it lists the filling stations and the recent prices of Unleaded petrol per litre (along with when the price was last refreshed - eg 1 day ago, 5 days ago).

Sussamb, tried deleting the current.gpx file as you suggested and I still get the error message. Any other thoughts?

The Fuel Prices were already available in firmware 2.90 (possibly depending on the local availability of this data)

Thanks - I didn't notice it until just now.
It's a nice feature. With an up to date price showing, at least we know that the filling station exists !
