I can't think what is different then @Richard_R
But as you say, you can do everything that you want, so it is no problem. Just odd that two XTs behave in different ways.

Have owned Zumo 550, 660 == Now have Zumo XT2, XT, 595, 590, Headache
Use Basecamp (mainly), MyRouteApp (sometimes), Competent with Tread for XT2, Can use Explore for XT - but it offers nothing that I want !

I have had that with both my Sena headsets. You need to go into the XT to the wifi/bluetooth settings and make sure the "Media Audio" box is ticked for your headset.
