If you search this forum you can find some posts, that question the data. Probably caused by how the GPS works, combined with the calculation method.
How I understand it: Suppose you move from Point A, to B to C. And for the sake of simplicity suppose that point A and C had correct coordinates recorded, But point B is recorded more to A than C in reality. The average speed from A to B would be to low, and from B to C to high. Although the average from A to C would be correct. If the unit takes the max speed from B to C obviousluy it's not correct.
