Re: Zumo XT power cable
...Be sure the powered side of the SAE connection uses the insulated socket for positive. This is very important advice. Some SAE cables swap polarity, such as the alligator clip harness that comes with some battery tenders. You need a multimeter to make sure of polarity -- even a cheap one will do...

Re: Stubborn route problem
Thanks for trying. I don't see this problem with all routes, so I'm scratching my head.

Re: Stubborn route problem
Not so fast. It seems like the XT just hates roundabouts. I created a different brand new route by "tracing" a track with the route tool and it looked fine in BC. It did the same crazy thing once active on the XT. And at another roundabout 30 miles away. The only thing that sort of worked ...

Re: Stubborn route problem
VFR, that is very interesting. I have to wonder if the route has corrupt code in it, especially where it is an old one. I'll try creating a new one and see if that changes things.
EDIT: That fixed it.

Re: Stubborn route problem
"In your roundabout, there is some weird routing going on - it looks like the traffic flow is the wrong way round on the exit at the 10 o clock position. I'd say mapping error." That's what I think as well. The purple stripe would have me riding into oncoming traffic. People here are dumb...

Stubborn route problem
I have a relatively short local route that is driving me nuts. It was created many versions of maps and GPS models ago, so I knew I would have to recalculate it using the latest CN NA NT and once imported to Trip Planner, "fix" it using the JaVaWa tool. It displays just fine in Basecamp, w...

Re: Variety of Waypoint Icons Not Showing Up?
@PaulaRay, You are exporting the entire "list" known as "Day11 169mi." Try this instead: select that list and in the bottom portion of the BC window, scroll down to just the route itself. Select it and use "Export Selected User Data." This has always worked for me, wher...

Re: My XT is freezing and acting up... Any clues?
Li-ion batteries can be fussy. Their preferred long term storage state is 80% charge. A fast way to kill them is to run them down until they shut down (usually around 10-20%, at which point they try to prevent damage by not allowing further drain) and then let them sit for weeks, at which time they ...

Re: Variety of Waypoint Icons Not Showing Up?
Thanks for your help once again... I did try that a couple times but, I'll give it another try. I'm also thinking about deleting all off the SD card and re-importing them all. Some kind of glitch going on  Thanks again, appreciate it. Ray I only had this happen once, and it was a while ago, b...

Re: Thoughts on "closest entry point"
@jfheath. Thank you for the reply and your testing details, which are certainly helpful. Chasing answers during the changing evolution by Garmin must have added to your fun! I have taken some time to digest what you shared. If I understand them correctly, your results seem to be consistent with wha...
