Re: Garmin Express 7.22.0.0 has been released

I have installed GE 7.22.0.0, started it, and connected my XT. All seems normal. I confirmed that The device was recognized. The update check ran normally. The Map Details list looks normal. The "Install maps to PC" option exists. The 'Launch on startup' and " Keep running in backgrou...

There is this reference to 'Proximity" associated with that restaurant waypoint in temp.gpx.
<gpxx:Proximity>804.672</gpxx:Proximity>
Wish it was decipherable by us mere mortals.

I'll check that in temp.gpx before it gets overwritten.

Re: Being forced to go back to a waypoint

jfheath , did you notice whether the Proximity Alerts setting existed on the XT2 out of the box? I'm curious because on my XT it took me awhile to figure out that it did not exists until I had installed a custom POI file that was configured with a proximity alert (rest areas with rest rooms in my c...

Re: Waypoints created in Garmin Explore

I had a go at trying to update the maps in Basecamp from Express on pc but it failed. Basecamp was shutdown right. Also, installing the map may require that you are logged in to the PC with an account that has administrator privileges. Perhaps running Express as an admin would be enough. Not sure t...

Re: 595 will not answer calls

I agree with lkraus in that it could be a permissions issue. There are so many parts to this, and it is difficult to know which parts affect what behavior. He mentioned the Smartphone Link app on the 595 which sounds similar to what is described in the Smarphone services on the XT. I asked about the...

Re: 595 will not answer calls

I have an XT. In its phone configuration (Settings > Wireless Networks) is an option for "Smartphone services". In there is a bunch of service options that can be enabled/disabled (eg: Incoming Calls, Voice, Mail, Email, Text Messages,..>). Maybe there is something similar on the 595. One ...

Re: How do I know what to Import?

My process is to select the route I want to transfer to the SD card, go to File > Export > Export selection, and save that file to my PC hard drive (the default filename will be the route name). I then copy that file to the SD card. An advantage to this is that when you look at the \GPX folder on th...

My connection time is very inconsistent, sometime taking under a minute and sometimes taking several minutes. If it hasn't connected after around 4 minutes I unplug it, do a shutdown/restart cycle of the XT, and then try again.
