Re: High-quality RAM mount alternatives from FANAUE
I would recommend Tackform mounts. They use a ball mount system similar to RAM but they are smaller 20mm ball size and almost all of their mounts are metal and not plastic. The RAM balls can deform over tie and Tackform does not. They have may more mounts and arms to select from than RAM and the ...

Re: Discussion about backups and alternate databases
I primarily do the backups to be able to use the same Library/Files on 3 computers as I have mine organized by folders and subfolders and move these about depending on what I am working on. And these folders allow you to declutter the map when needed. I keep most of my routes and data but ...

Re: Discussion about backups and alternate databases
It has worked well for me for a number of years (on Mac), just need to be methodical about backing up each time you add data, at least if using on more than one computer, may not be an issue if ONLY using for backup as you may not restore database often.

Re: RAM handlebar mount
If you wanted a chrome verson of that to match bars and maybe bike, Tackform makes chrome mounts similar, but better built with all metal, 20mm balls that might work. You would still need a black AMPS mount for GPS but that would be behind the chrome clamp and arm. The web link shows teh phone mount ...

Re: Discussion about backups and alternate databases
I'm primarily using Basecamp on a Mac but I backup database everytime I use Basecamp to the Cloud. I can then use these backups to restore on any of my computers to work on as I have a Desktop, a MacBook Pro and a MacBook Air I usually take for air or Moto travel. Secondary, I have a recent backup ...

Re: Roadtrippers and Zumo XT2 anyone???
I have a BMW NAV5, Garmin Zumo XT and now a Garmin Zumo XT2. I run Basecamp on a MacMini and Macbook M1/M2.
Basecamp still works and was updated within the last year, works fast and well on M1/M2 chips better than Intel. Basecamp will recognize the NA5 and XT2 no problem, I was never very ...

Mac OS Sonoma 14.0 Update
I updated my Macs to MAC OS Sonoma 14.0 this week and I've noticed a number of things working faster with Basecamp 4.8.12 and 4.8.13. The find points of interest search was one of the first things I noticed, it seems to populate almost instantly and previously it had a lag. It also seems that other ...

Re: BaseCamp 4.8.13
Installed on my Mac Mini with Apple M1 Chip and so far works fine. Seems to load faster but maybe just dreaming. Will have to see if it will detect my Zumo XT now.

Re: Access Basecamp Library from multple computers
I use the same Basecamp database on my desktop, my personal laptop and a work laptop without any issues by backing up the database to iCloud and restoring the database to the computer I am using. These are all Macs and as I recall when I tried to use my PC, it did not work. You need to be ...

Re: BASECAMP + OSX 10.11 + ZUMO XT = CRASH
Make sure Garmin Express is not running in background or at all or Basecamp will not recognize it. Also no other App that would connect to XT. I use Android File Transfer App to connect direct to XT and inserted SD Card and I need to make sure it is turned off.
