Re: Change Map Name in Installed Map List?

One option, IF the maps do not overlap, is to just make all the OSM maps active. That is a big IF, because if they do overlap, the XT will produce some strange results. There might be another solution to this problem, but I use JaVaWa IMGName to change the name of the map set. On the XT recognition ...

Re: Ordering parts?

What parts do you need?

For nuts, bolts or other common items I'd just see my local hardware store.

Re: Tread app drains battery on Android phone

By coincidence, I just uninstalled the Drive app because it was always running in the background. My phone gets little use as a phone, mostly I use it to read ebooks, listen to audiobooks and music, check the weather, do a little forum browsing. I noticed last week that Drive was always the biggest ...

Re: Being forced to go back to a waypoint

Regarding terminology (Waypoint, Via Point, Shaping Point), notice in your route points list that some are gray and contain "won't alert". Those are Shaping Points. The others are Via Points (alerting). All are referred to as Waypoints. I think the use of "waypoint" when referri...

Re: Zumo XT power cable

Strip the outer insulation, unbraided the shielding wires and twist them together to splice and solder to the black lead. A multimeter will confirm that the XT uses the shield as the negative connection. The center wire is the positive, splice to the red lead. Be sure the powered side of the SAE con...

Re: Being forced to go back to a waypoint

Basecamp makes it quick and easy to verify that your route points are properly placed on the road. Open the route to see the list of route points. Check the "Center map" box on the lower left. Select the first point, the map will automatically pan and zoom to center and highlight the point...

Re: 2025.10 Maps on Zumo 550

City Navigator North America has grown to over 5 GB.

I suspect the "clone" USB has more storage capacity than a 550.

I think you are selecting too much.
As @rbentnail said, Bottom left, select only the individual item(s) you want to include.

Re: Other satnavs

Basecamp works just fine with free Open Street Maps (.gmap format), and TomTom does contribute to OSM. I'm uncertain about the practicality and limitations of using a .GPX file in a TomTom, or converting a .GPX to an .ITN file. ITNConverter used to work but it has been decades since I played with it.
