say, does anyone have this setup ??
my question is in how the ball can move, say the suction cup is on your desk, can the xt be mounted 90 degrees or close to so it would face you in a dash install. tried to ask gpscity, but they couldn't understand the question and told me it is for a windshield. yep, got that part. lol i want to use it in a surface mount suction cup friction mount.
for example, my tomtom rider mount goes 90 degrees just fine by design, but my last trip had me wishing for a car mount for my XT
the other option I'm debating is a ram suction, short arm, then xt mount for the ram, like a bike setup, but without the wiring. price would be about the same.
thanks much for your time

Excellent!! Thanks so very much!
Last question, say what is the measurement for the bottom of the xt to the surface,, say in the first photo.
Thanks again, extremely helpful!

With the automotive mount stuck onto a flat tabletop, and the XT rotated so that the screen perfectly straight up and down, the gap from the bottom of the unit to the surface of the table is darned close to 1cm. I did not measure, that's just me eyeballing it.
