Battery life experience

Post by Scottnet »

Hi. Does anyone have any real experience with battery life?

I need at least a couple of hours to do route planning in my tent. I am weary of Garmin claims..

I went from my 660 to the 595 but binned the 595 cause the battery was rubbish.

Thanks

To make certain that you can always use your XT, I guess you could put a car 12 volt socket somewhere
on your bike and then a cable long enough to reach inside the tent.

Quite a few of my friends have done that to make sure they always have power to charge
not onky the GPS but other gadgets they bring along.

Alternatively a power bank but you still need to charge the powerbank anyway
which they than do while driving.

I had it running in the car last night for 4 and half hours. I forgot that you need to plug in the power cable to the zumo itself!! Anyway, the battery still had life when I got home. Had it set at 70% brightness and 100% spoken directions. Would never have got anywhere near this with my 595.

Had it on my bike Sunday without any powerconnection.
Brightness set to maximum, playing music most of the time.

And it lasted 5 hours which I think is quite OK.

That's very good. At least it seems that is not a show stopper..
