When I Make a route on the PC (Windows 10) the calaulacted route is not on the road but parallel to it. This is something new Basecamp 2020.2 used to show the route correctly. any suggestions?

If you select "Maps" in the task bar, what's showing the check mark?

This often happens if you've accidentally rotated the map. Select the compass icon and rotate it so it points north, that should resolve it.

What sussamb said. Or Use the pull down menu: View / Align North Up.
