Road Type??

When setting Route Options there is the choice of Road Type Avoidences. What is the UK definition of Interstates, Major Highways and State Highways in relation to our system of Motorways, A roads and B roads??

No real idea and not sure it's laid down anywhere, but I suspect Interstates equals M ways, major highways possibly dual carriageways and State highways A roads
