They released 2020.30 a little while back. I installed it on both Basecamp and Zumo. And since I was being ultra tidy on that day (not to mention being stupid), I deleted all of my other maps.

What happened was that when any route was transferred from Basecamp to the Zumo, the Zumo would start a very long, tedious process of recalculating. This was not normal behaviour - something that it might do if the map on the Zumo was not the same as the map on Basecamp. But this was taking a good many minutes - and I wasn't even trying to load the map in. (And I know all of the little gotchas in Basecamp that might cause this happen).

I managed to find a backup copy of 2020.20 and after a lot of messing about I got that back onto both systems. All has been well since. I wont be installing 2020.30 any time soon.

Today, I discovered something really important. I found another way that doesn't work.

Tested this using CN EU 2020.30 NTU on both Basecamp 4.6.2 (W10pro) and on my 590/5, no problems transferring routes, no long recalculation either.

The Basecamp not routing problem seems to be on a Mac not on Windows (at least that is what is posted on various fora)

Hmmm. Maybe something else was going on. I'll give it another go at some point - without deleting my present maps this time !

Having problems downloading, I picked the 'install all updates' from Express rather than go to options to also install to PC, so both my Zumos have updated but re-running the update to install to the PC means downloading the update again which I've tried a couple of times and consistently stalls at 14.7%.
I've seen this before, usually fixed by waiting a week and trying again. I wonder if Garmin's servers get maxed out with all the update traffic.

I changed to the 2020.3 last week and have the same issue, I have an applemac as well and I only get straight lines and even if I recalculate it makes no difference. I am having to go back to the previous 2020.2 to get the route to work properly.

why cannot Garmin get it right, has anyone solved the problem?

Well most don't seem to have an issue, so something is wrong perhaps with your device/maps. Have you tried a master reset?

I think I had this issue once or twice when my maps in Bootcamp didn't match the maps on my GPS.

This seems like a Mac issue with the latest map, there are a couple of similar comments on the Garmin forum. It'll be worth phoning Garmin Product Support to report it.
