Editing route

Could some one help me please I,m trying to edit out a section of a route.
Example turning off a main route onto a side road then joining onto the original road further down. I want to remove the side road bit and continue on original road. Sorry if that seems as clear as Mud but I cant think of another way to explain it

MapSource somehow knew how to route down that side road, how is that? Is there way, via or shaping point(s) that can be deleted/erased?

Could also be due to the way routing and avoidances are set in Mapsource, but if you want to force it to go a different way just add a shaping or via point.
