Tricky
Re: Tricky
Not that will do all BaseCamp will do. Have you read the tutorial linked to in this post http://www.zumouserforums.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=12
I've now used BC for many years pretty much every day both for on and off road planning, BC does all Mapsource does and more, and now on the occasional times I use Mapsource I find that hard work. Get used to BC and I'm sure in due course you'll feel the same.

Re: Tricky
TYRE trace your route everywhere
But it uses Google maps for routing so once transferred to the zumo it will need to be recalculated and it will make its own mind up depending on the settings
There is also ITN converter that is the same but less buggy

Re: Tricky
Basecamp has a steep learning curve to start with, but, once over the hump, it's actually quite good (with a few foibles).
Some things to remember:
All routes, waypoints, POI's, tracks etc are all stored in one humumgous database. This is good and bad:
Good - you can start new routes without having to keep putting in your home location each time you start up the s/w.
Bad - there's sometimes way too much info and it's hard to find just what you want. But you can mitigate this by creating 'Collections'.
Good - these collections are actually brilliant when used properly.
Bad - searching is not as easy as Mapsource. But the info is in there somewhere.
And so on.
You can, of course still use Mapsource - but you have to mess around with your modern day Zumos (590/595 etc) to get Mapsource to see them.
Personally, I use both.

Re: Tricky
And, it's a damn sight better than Tyre or Google maps for getting stuff into your Zomo properly.

Thanks Guys & Gals.
I'll be looking at all the links and vids for info.
I have made a few waypoints but the Basecamp map is not very good not much detail when zoomed in.
I'll have another play
