New with Zumo 396...doubts

Post by elandune »

Hi
I just bought a Zumo 396 but I still cant do some things:

-How can I disable the "Dont use while driving" message that appears everytime I turn on the screen?

- Is it possible to register my trips to see later in a map? (I mean not only following a route, track it)

Ty in advance and sorry for my english

Don't think so about the first, but it'll go away after a few seconds.

As for the second, just turn on the trip log. Should be under Settings, Device

If you use basecamp you can send datea from the zumo to basecamp. In fact if you plug in the zumo and you have basecamp installed basecamp may start automatically and the data transfer may accur without prompting. The zumo will probably automatically create track archives.I do not know the logic behind the archives but on my 2797 nuvi there is an archive file in the gpx folder. The nuvi create s these entirely automatically, and i think it discards the oldest automatically too.
These gpx files can be "viewed with any text editor(notepad or wordpad). You can import them into basecamp and view the tracks. There probabaly many applications that you cn view these archives in

Edit...my little nuvi 2350 also has an archive folder so i bet the zumo will have one too.
