Favourites and Waypoints

How do waypoints from a route end up in "My Favourites"? On a recent trip, I had 10 waypoint on the route and when finished, I look in Favourites and all the waypoints were there.

I think it's always been that way. My previous nuvi and 595 both did/do that. I can't figure out how to get an unpicked Saved place to show up on the map when I'm near it tho.

Ok, what I mean is:

if I pick a Saved place as a destination, it shows on the map as a destination.

But to me that's not always the need I have. I have maybe 20 Saved places in my XT. Any one of which I can choose as a destination and have the XT calculate a route for me. But what about the other 19? The other 19 "unpicked" places do not show on the map. I can ride within 20 feet of it on a different road and never know it.

That's what I mean.
