Garmin 665 Auto Shutdown

My Garmin 665, modified by Palm Dr. with 16gb of internal memory has begun shutting down while in use.

This happened several times during a recent trip. The GPS was navigating and playing an Audio Book. Then it would just stop and shutdown. No "loss of power" indication. It would just shutdown.

I would remove the GPS from its mount, remount it and it would return to where it was in operation. This happened several times one day and then it just stopped operating. Screen was visible but nothing would work, including the power on/off switch.

Took it off the mount and then pulled the battery. It would then restart and operate.

Anyone else have this issue or know what the cause might be?
