How to Search using GPS Coordinates

Post by m185945 »

In the upper right hand corner of the Basecamp for Windows interface is a Search option/field. Does anyone know if you can use this fields to search GPS coordinates? More importantly, if you can use GPS coordinates then what is the format to use? You can see from my attachment I have tried several formats. All the ones I tried work on Google Maps (for whatever that is worth).

I thank you in advance for your assistance.

Looking at the properties page/tab of a saved favorite, the gps coordinate format appears to be N38° 51.333' W94° 47.941'

I have had to use the coordinates option when trying to use OSM maps in my 550.

Thank you for trying, but when I enter coordinates:
N38° 51.333' W94° 47.941'
Into the search field I receive no results.

I have had to use the coordinates option when trying to use OSM maps in my 550.
After further study you are correct regarding the format. My mistake was using the Search option in the upper right hand corner. Instead I should have been using Ctrl+T which offers up the Locate Coordinates option. In that dialogue box I was able to enter N38° 51.333' W94° 47.941' then click Recenter.

Thank you for answering my question with the proper format. Now I may experiment with different formats like Google Maps uses.
