Is there a way to disable Foursquare on the XT?

I'm surprised a Google search found nothing on this subject. Its so annoying this foursquare garbage. I'm not logged into it on the Garmin drive, so it must be in the maps. I really don't want it there. I was hoping I'd find it in the map layers, but I didn't see it. I'm hoping I can disable it.

Have you looked in the device directories to see if you can see it listed - If you decide to delete it, back the unit up first to avoid 'bricking' it.
Alternatively give Garmin support a call.

Personally I do not use Foursquare & it does not bother me it being there.

Should be in your myMaps. Just deselect it

Not in maps (or anywhere I could find on the GPS) - I could not find a way to stop it either.

Have you looked in the .system directory?

LIke someone said above, it should be in your Settings. From home page (before Viewing map) Click Settings, Map & Vehicle, scroll down to mymaps, and deselect it. At least on mine.
