595 Maximum Number of Custom POI's?

Forgive me if this has been answered somewhere; I couldn't find it.

Is there a limit for the number of Custom POI's one can load into the Internal memory of the 595? Or, is this limited by the available memory. I thought I read somewhere that it is limited to 1000 points, but I may be confusing that with the number of points in a track or number of tracks or something else. I think I want to load about 1200-1300 Custom POI's.

P.S. Is there a maximum number of Categories?

I load speed camera locations using the POI loader, and while I can't remember the exact number, it's in the thousands (maybe 17 000).
