Thanks for getting back. It’s a Garmin Sumo but I don’t know which one it came with my new bike the guy before had it all set up, he’s moved over seas, when you turn it on it comes up with were to postcode seams to go in ok. Then it wants house number which is fairly common with sat nav’s, you can normally put in any number as long as you know road it will normally take you to road. Thanks

Welcome to the forum ? Which Zumo do you have ?

Actually - they are probably all the same in this respect.

Post Code: Where To ? -> Address -> Enter PostCode -> Type in Postcode (no spaces). It then asks for a house number, but also gives the option of GoTo AB129XY -> Done. It is easy to miss that 'GoTo .....' option - since it is asking for a house number at the top.

Address / Town: Where To ? Address -> Spell Town -> Type in town name - > Select from list
You can then select "GoTo (town name") form a horizontally scrolling list, or enter house number (or 'Done' if there is no number) -> Enter Street -> Choose from list.

Verified as very similar on both the Zumo XT2 and the Zumo 590.
Have owned Zumo 550, 660 == Now have Zumo XT2, XT, 595, 590, Headache
Use Basecamp (mainly), MyRouteApp (sometimes), Competent with Tread for XT2, Can use Explore for XT - but it offers nothing that I want !

If I know the post code then I don't put a house number in, I just put a 0 ie a zero. This works for most residential areas, out of town, then a post code can cover over a square mile of countryside, which can cause grief to delivery drivers if the don't ask, and as importantly, follow any directions.

As for which Zumo you have, is the GPS a rectangle with curvy edges, or a proper rectangle? Some images here will help understand my question: https://www.google.com/search?q=garmin+ ... client=img
