I knew that this issue would have already been dealt with and after a long search, Peobody has provided the answer, It seems that keeping your planned routes in the order you planned them is really easy--- when you know how. All this in Basecamp before transferring.
I tried the numbering system, I used to use with the 660, and it's still useful, just not on its own. It's all tied to the date attached to the first or starting waypoint for each days ride, set them up in the order of the dates to be ridden, only the first waypoint for each days ride, unless you are riding more than one route a day, in which case the time becomes important.
Click on the route, then the first waypoint, double click then schedule departure.
