Looks like a 32GB memory card is only $7 on Amazon, so I ordered one. It'll arrive on Friday and I'll know if it's a software (I can try Garmin support) or hardware (need to get it replaced) problem.

nothing wrong with the hardware, your XT is fine, the problem is either that Card is not seated well in its bunker, or the card is formatted incorrectly

Worked with Garmin support and they recommended a replacement device. As it turns out, my new device is recognizing the card and it shows up when I plug my XT2 to my laptop. I now get an Internal Storage and Memory Card entries from my XT2, so for those who tried to help. Thanks a bunch!
