Zumo XT & BaseCamp Too Many Maps Loaded
Hi Everyone, I just received my new Zumo XT this past week! It appears I excitedly downloaded Garmins maps twice; Once by WiFi and the other this morning through Garmin Express. Of course, now I have the XT bloated to 52% full.....damn.
In addition, BC is in the same shape. I really don't really need Mexico & TOPO maps but, maybe they're needed to be in place for communication with the others?? What would be the best way to get rid of all these extra maps and/or by starting fresh without duplicating? Both in GE & BC? The following is a few snapshots. Thanks. Ray

That map list is what I had as well. I turned off all maps for areas that I would never ride in (CN NA NT Canada & Mexico, TopoActive Middle America, TopoActive Canada/Alaska). I don't know whether there is any benefit to doing this.

Although it looks like you have two or three maps that are the same on Basecamp, they are not. Its the same map broken up into chunks by Garmin. I made the same mistake and removed one of the chunks on the European mapping then went on holiday. I had no road maps for France and Switzerland, just showed the vehicle on a blank background when I got there. Duh..

Thanks for the help, appreciate it. Raysussamb wrote: Tue Mar 28, 2023 8:36 pm Your XT hitting 52% isn't an issue, neither are the maps loaded to it. They are all perfectly normal I believe.

Re: Zumo XT & BaseCamp Too Many Maps Loaded
Thanks for the help. There are some maps that I'll never use like all of the TOPO maps along Canada & Mexico. Only thing I would be interested in is the US and National Parks. I may want Canada later on but, not for now. I do see that all of the maps on the XT are somewhat different. Also, I see Garmin Express that you can pick and choose regions. I'd like to do by starting over but, I don't want to duplicate anything by doing so. What's the best way to start over without duplicating? Thanks again, appreciate your help.
