Hi
Hi
Hi All.
New to this bike GPS lark. Always managed with a map and a bit of prior preparation before.
But for the first time in more than a few years took the bike (GSX750SZ Katana) a bit further than the home patch and went to the EuroKat rally up in Denmark.
I bought a Zumo 346 for the trip. But found Base Camp and the user interface on the box itself frustrating to use! To the extent that I went off on the bike and the Zumo stayed at home!
Anyway, got to Denmark and home again but felt I could have done a bit more as I was always following another rider.
So I decided to get to grips with the Zumo. A G-search threw this forum into the fore, and after "lurking" for a few days I have decided to join up.
I have seen some pretty good info already and there seem to be some pretty clued up folk on here. So hope you don't mind but I will probably be asking some daft questions over the coming weeks.
Cheers
Jim

Re: Hi
Welcome to the forum Jim. Most of us found that Basecamp took a bit of figuring out (I know I did). Look at the suggestions in Garmin Basecamp for PC/MAC. It takes a while but when it clicks, it's a good way to plan your routes.
Cheers, Pete.

Re: Hi
I used to think the same until I watched a load of videos and did some reading and figured out the way it workstojjer wrote: Sun Aug 26, 2018 7:46 pm Hi Jim, welcome
I have the 346 also. Don't get me started on BC !! I find that so complicated and finniky.
its a bit alien to other programs but it does work well when you figure it out
Re: Hi
I feel the same way now about BaseCamp, it was hard to learn but once you do it is a great program.Stu wrote: Sun Aug 26, 2018 8:48 pmI used to think the same until I watched a load of videos and did some reading and figured out the way it workstojjer wrote: Sun Aug 26, 2018 7:46 pm Hi Jim, welcome

Re: Hi
Thanks for the welcome all.
It'll be another week before I get back home from work before I can start to play with the box and BC. in the meantime I'll be looking through the "How To..." sections
Cheers
