Just joined up.long time motorcyclist and always been interested in mapping n stuff.Have two nuvis but no garmin for motorcycles, never felt the need. For me the bike is to be free of this sorta stuff!
But a new event (to me) has loomed into myconciousness which means i will need the assistance of a gps for motorcycles.
I am a NZ open maps user and have some insights into a basecamp upgrade foible, but that is for my second post!

Re: a new kiwi
Welcome! For a long time I used a nuvi 780 on my motorcycle. It never gave a problem except that it's not weather resistant. Why not see if you can find a cradle and cable for yours and give it a go before laying out the big money for the newer Garmin? Plus, there's always the chance that you can just plug in some earbuds, drop the nuvi in a pocket and run off the battery for a while with audio only.

Re: a new kiwi
my little 2350 wont import a route or track and the 2797 would be rather large and has some foibles with NZ iopen maps, the routing is downright weird on occasions, but the big scrren is nice for old eyes!rbentnail wrote: ↑18 Aug 2018 23:24 Welcome!
