Sadly, this feature no longer works. I think Garmin removed the feature some months ago when they updated the Drive app - a real shame.

Have you by any chance got OSM maps, Open Street Maps enabled? If so this will cut out spoken navigation directions. If you disable them you should return to normal.

Thanks for your observation, It looks like Garmin Drive was updated on 15/11/23, maybe the functionality changed the. I find what3words very useful here in the UK, as post codes tend to cover very large areas & are not that precise.
