Re: XT2 made me laugh

I was recently on a 2,000Km Motorcycle trip. I was with 1 other rider, and we were both using SENA comms units on our helmets, which would override any spoken turn by turn directions from my XT2 unit. Everytime the SENA comms units where disconnected from each other , my XT2 would then do the same ...

Re: Garmin has really dropped the ball. Not Happy at all.

UPDATE: On the dead touch screen ... Garmin Australasia has agreed to send me a "new" refurbished unit with a new 12 month warranty. The piss off is, that there is no way to transfer all the routes I had planned for a 9 day adventure on the "dead screen XT2" onto the refurbished unit they are ...

Re: XT2 made me laugh

I definitely admire your persistence jfheath, in trying to get the XT2 to behave as intended! But IMHO, for the "average" user, the XT2 is still a bloody nightmare with way too many "hoops" to contend with. In "some" praise of the XT2, it's definitely a much more rugged Nav unit, and able to handle ...

Re: Garmin has really dropped the ball. Not Happy at all.

Would be great if they could "copy" the planned routes I have on the dead screen device, onto any "new" device they might send back to me. Will just have to wait a see. If you connect the XT2 to a computer, does it see it? If it does, I'd guess that finding the gpx file might get you that ...

Re: Garmin has really dropped the ball. Not Happy at all.

I have been in contact with Garmin. As requested by Garmin Australia, I have sent them a short 15 second video, showing that the screen is non-functioning. It's still the weekend here in OZ. Hopefully in the next couple of days I will get more instructions from Garmin. Would be great if they could ...

Re: XT2 made me laugh

The XT2. Living up to its reputation, as a completely unreliable NAV unit ...

Re: Garmin has really dropped the ball. Not Happy at all.

Let if cool down and try again. Turn it off completely - long press the power button. The Zumo is designed to work on a bike with fast flowing air. I've noticed that when it is in my hand in the house, it gets rather warm and then the screen starts playing up. Give it chance and then try again. 24 ...

Re: Garmin has really dropped the ball. Not Happy at all.

And that's not all folks (OP here) .... Today the entire XT2 screen stopped reacting to touch input. Perfect bloody timing after I had spent days planing out a big trip manually with the inbuilt "Route PLanner The "Big Trip" (9 days and 8 nights 2,000 Kms) is due to start in 3 weeks. F'n brilliant ...
