If you can't find the system files and software mentioned in the conversation, I might have them somewhere.

Maybe You can use the Garmin Cure software to get Your device operational again? I think that by using this software You will lose all Your data that was on Your device before You formatted it. But at least You can get it up and running again.

You can replace the pin with the tip from the ballpoint pen.
Also, put same tape to the bottom mount point of the cradle. To make the device sit tighter in the cradle.
