"Off Course. Recalculate?"

I prefer to be presented with this prompt when I go off course. 95% of the time I answer with No. However, sometimes when I get back on course the Zumo quits giving me audible turn directions and does not show me my next turn. I'm uncertain the reason. The magenta line is still present and it still ...

Re: Route Duration

Just tap the current Speed on the map screen. The XT will switch to the trip computer page showing time and distance to the destination, arrival time, distance to next turn, etc.

I use the Elevation one often. And any of these can be selected as the "permanent" display on the map screen to ...

Re: Route Duration

I use Google Maps and Basecamp to develop routes. They both provide estimated durations, but neither estimate is close to reality.

I can relate to that. Try MRA (MyRouteApp) and you will get another prediction. Try different maps (OpenStreetMap) and again the figures are different. But it is ...

Route Duration

When I start a route, after my Triumph starts moving, then on the right hand side of the Zumo screen is a temporary summary of the route including the predicted duration. The data is viewable only for about 15 seconds.

I use Google Maps and Basecamp to develop routes. They both provide estimated ...

Re: Big Picture

With a route active, tap the green bar at the top of the screen. Tap the folded map icon top left.

In my office, this worked so I thank you very much. We are snowed in so I have not had a chance to use your suggestion after I start traveling the route. I wonder if the screen will go back ...

Big Picture

Terms I'm making up for the sake of asking a coherent question. Big picture and little picture.

Mounted on my handlebar is a smartphone using the app GPX Viewer Pro. I use it to display the big picture, meaning, the entire route including a marker for my current position. The marker moves as I move ...

Re: Difference Between Shaping Points, Via Points, and Waypoints

JFHEATH and PEABODY,
Thank you both very much for your valuable feedback. I have added all or your points (play on words) to my Zumo notes.
Cheers,

Difference Between Shaping Points, Via Points, and Waypoints

I asked Artificial Intelligence what was the difference between these three points and this link is the answer. Anyone disagree or have anything to add?

Here's the breakdown of via points, shaping points, and waypoints on your Garmin GPS:
