Re: Poor timing of spoken instructions

Thanks for the responses guys, but I think the point has been missed.
I started my GPS experience with a Streetpilot 2610,on which you could navigate from the map info on the screen, it mostly alerted you not only when to turn but often when not to i.e. keep right/left etc, my Zumo 660, whilst ...

Poor timing of spoken instructions

I know you should always check distance to turn information, but, is it me or are spoken instructions often/mostly given right next to a possible turn.
i.e exit roundabout, just as you are passing an exit. Being told to turn left on complex junctions when your turn is some way ahead is possibly ...

For all devotees of Mapsource

Like many others, I too grew up using and loving Mapsource, I still occasionally use it to create routes, especially as the Find function in Basecamp is very poor compared to Mapsource (not that either are much good). many times I have to resort to Google Earth to find the places I want to go ...

More weird behaviour

Weird behaviour this week only on one route of four. The attached images flashed up repeatedly, returning the screen to the map only restarted the cycle. Stopping the route returned normality briefly, then the cycle began again.
Note on the direction page no speed, distance or route is shown ...

Re: Road closures?

How any times, especially in a town, or worse a city, have you been routed back to the same closed road by a diversion? This happened to me, admittedly using a 660, in Rouen, four times back to the same closed bridge, before turning off the unit and riding blind to the next bridge 20 km away. Once ...

Re: Road closures?

Surely, the unasked question is why can't we tell the unit that the road is closed?
I asked for this facility when I owned my Streetpilot 2610, Garmin said, look out for this in future updates.

New at tracks

Travelling from Norfolk to Portsmouth via M11-M25, ended up in the wrong lane, went miles out our way, but very pretty.
It was very hot, but luckily the traffic was light (Sunday afternoon).
Question:
Does autozoom work with tracks? or is it just poor?
I have had poor results with autozoom on routes ...

Re: 2026.1 update

Every other business puts its important functions in a prominent position for ease of use, it does not hide them so that only the cognoscenti understand their location.
Garmin Express is not user friendly, it is the product of those ivory tower mentality individuals who do not understand the ...

Re: 2026.1 update

I need to apologise, I did not realise that Garmin Express had its own section, that's probably because it's such sh-te.

I have never been able to get it to recognise my units for a second time during a download and always have to uninstall it, then reinstall, this is for all three units.
For a ...

Re: 2026.1 update

No just an XT, as it's my second unit, I called it XT 2 as a nickname, maybe that's the problem, or Garmin are just being their usual helpful selves
