Hi John
That was my understanding from the great information posted on here by yourself and others.
My method may not work for others, for example I detest the constant voice notifications, which in France can be "take the next left to Saint-Remy-en-Bouzemont Saint-Genest-et-Isson in Champagne. By ...

Thank You For The Fix
I have just returned home from a 9 day 2100 mile trip.
I planned each day's route the previous night in MRA on an Ipad and sent it via my phone to the XT (1.1 Route, Track POI)
Using the: start the trip and then exit and save process (change from imported to saved) worked perfectly.

Re: Routes up ahead
Apologies if this has already been mentioned...
Its a brave person that relies on the Garmin database being up to date (not really their fault), a few times I have followed the route to a petrol station to find a derelict site. Sometimes its an empty field or a housing estate!

Re: Prevent Zumo XT from recording speed
Robert
My issue is that Garmin have produced a device that records information that serves no purpose but I am unable to stop it doing so.
What is the point in recording the highest speed ever reached if it does not indicate when this occurred? Who cares if I did 96mph at some point in the last 7847 ...

Re: Prevent Zumo XT from recording speed

No problem with the GPS measuring speed to calculate whatever it wants for whatever purpose however, there is no reason to record that information.
If I wanted to log maximum speed/G-force/lean angle/pies eaten etc then I am sure there is a device available, (not sure about pie consumption ...

Re: Zumo XT2 in few weeks?
I think its a last ditch panic response from Garmin, its obvious their recent focus has been on lifestyle gadgets and not on motorised vehicle navigation.
Who in their right mind would buy the New XT2 when the original still throws up errors on a regular basis?
The XT device itself is great but ...

Re: ZumoLock v Motopumps Zumo XT - KTM 390 Adventure
This may not help.....
I had a Yamaha T700 with a touring screen and it was very difficult to get the key into the lock on Zumo lock. In the end I put some rubber spacers between the zumo lock and XT mount to move it forward about 5mm to make it possible to lock/unlock.
Was never going to happen ...

Re: Weird Routing Behaviour (2)
This Alien Via Point thing makes a lot of sense after the issues I had in September, I will have a look into this and try and replicate it.
It is crazy if the XT starts making routing decisions based on some algorithm when you are forced to change direction due to road conditions.

Good man!
The satellite reception thing has to be a load of tosh! On the way back I went through westerscheldetunnel in Netherlands, its 6.6km long and the track log shows me entering, travelling through it and leaving. The XT may assume that as I entered the tunnel I have to come out the other end ...
