Re: Planned distance not making sense
Which USB cable? The one that came with it should work; some aftermarket ones stubbornly don't, but some do. Keep trying. Also try different USB ports on your computer. That is my thinking too. Some cables will not carry data (charging only cables). A charging only cable is needed when you want to ...

Re: Being forced to go back to a waypoint
So I got into the habit of using more Waypoints than I really needed to. Most of these points will be set as Shaping Points - not Via Points. So they were created as Waypoints (Saved) and they do not announce. I use Via Points (alerting) only for the stopping places - I actually place them after th...

Re: Planned distance not making sense
A winning combination is Basecamp for route planning and these forums for working through the idiosyncrasies of the XT and Basecamp. Garmin is trying to steer us to mobile device route planning tools like Garmin Explore and Tread but only a few people here have indicated that they find them of value.

Re: Being forced to go back to a waypoint
Hi Peobody, I was on a motorway when the recalc took place. It didn't route through the fifth point and stayed on A roads after the motorway until (instead of through a town) then B roads to the destination. This fascinates me because the XT2 ignored a shaping point when it recalculated. I am now w...

Re: Being forced to go back to a waypoint
Skipping the 4th point the Xt2 did actually reroute to use main (A) roads to the destination. That is the behaviour we talk about when saying that it recalculates the remainder of the route. Did the main (A) roads it chose route through the fifth point? Regarding terminology (Waypoint, Via Point, S...

Re: Stubborn route problem
FWIW, I also created a route in BC that followed the route first posted about and it looked correct on the XT map which was then confirmed when it traversed the roundabout as expected in simulation mode. I know this doesn't help figure out the problem. It only helps identify that the problem is not ...

Re: ZUMO XT2 CONCLUSIONS
Really, Via Points whould only be used in places that you know you will definitley pass through. I agree, but I believe having some sprinkled judiciously throughout a route is valuable to provide some points that you can select as a destination to navigate to, or set as a starting point in the even...

Re: Pairing XT with Packtalk Edge as GPS
raesewell , I am curious about two things... 1. Apple or Android phone? jfheath identified a capability on Android that is not on Apple. I don't remember the specifics. 2. Can you see texts on the XT with the XT not being the hub? FWIW, I have a Packtalk Bold. Having the XT as the hub was the only ...

Re: Talk to XT
I am curious how it works in the car because in my mind you would need to know the address to speak which would first research to find unless you are talking about speaking the name of a location that exist in some sort of a saved destinations list.

Re: Talk to XT
There isn't. The XT is not voice command capable.
