Re: Making Track visible on the Map
I rely on voice instructions for long stretches, so I can easily miss seeing the track diverge from my route. Using a wide, black track puts a border on the route, giving me reassurance that I am still on route. If I don't see the border when I do look at the screen, I know I've gone astray. I've at...

Re: Making Track visible on the Map
The option to display the track is not available if you are using Explore. That's one of the reasons many of us do not use Explore at all. There are detailed instructions here somewhere to disable Explore, but I think it involves removing the Explore app from your phone, a reset of the XT to restore...

Re: Can not get cams to show up on map..
There is probably a better way, but I usually take a peek at the files with a good text editor. (For windows - Notepad++)
There is usually some clear text in the first few lines that tells me what is in the file.

Re: Faster vs Fastest
Basecamp actually makes decent choices to keep travel time short with Faster Time. The 590/595 did pretty well also. It is the XT that tends to disregard total time when selecting "faster" (major) roads. It will add lots of time and distance just to use a highway when there is a shorter an...

Re: CN NA 2025.10
I misunderstood where you were finding the categories... I don't think I've ever noticed or used those Find options before. I do now see all seventeen categories in the list, but it does not matter which map I select. The categories here seem to restrict results to only the selected category. If I s...

Re: CN NA 2025.10
That's a new sort of problem. Using Basecamp 4.7.5, Windows 11, CNNA NT 2025.1, this is what I see: find.png Changing activity profiles does not change the options, I still see all sixteen categories. Changing the map does not change the options. I see the same sixteen categories using a couple of d...

Re: Please remind me how to do optional POI
jfheath did a very nice job in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vCfeFOfETwg&list=PLueZjzZkyuL2DaJbwaEEsaS3Dv3nejNDS&index=9 The gist of what you want starts at about the 3 minute mark. I might add another via point before the turn to the Sligachan hotel in the example, labelled &...

Re: XT - Tracks - Maximum number of points
The number I have in my notes on Zumo specifications is 15,000 points per track for a Zumo 590/595/39x/XT. I can't provide a source, but I think I found that number in several locations. Maybe the count starts with zero instead of one? Also, there is the mysterious "GarminDevice" file on t...
