XT mount accidentally unlocking during ride

Having Garmin zumo XT problems? there is loads of help and advice in this forum

I placed a Mounting Pad (used with Zip Tie) and than ran a rubber band through the holes and around the back of the mount.
Utilitech # 0292685 I tried to attached a picture but It did not work I bought it at Lowes HW were the zip ties are

Yes and use a hair (pony tail) rubber band

Run a tether to the rear of the unit with a stick on zip tie mount. This is what I did before I bought the Touratech locking mount. Don't waste your money on the 'Zumo Lock' it only blocks the release catch, it does not secure the unit itself.

thanks - I cover my with my Hemet when in a restaurant and take it off when I'm in a hotel

My solution, among all possible, using one of the rear fixing screws; can be mounted on one of the 4 corners of the GPS:

Great idea. Any idea if it might compromise the water proofing?
