Could be! Still, with Garmin's new lead, the market may drop off, so I suppose they have to seize the day.Stu wrote: Fri Oct 23, 2020 12:16 pmMaybe thats my fault for ordering to the UK and they have now seen a market for it![]()

Re: WARNING - Garmin Zumo XT hot-shoe connector weakness
I am super frustrated! Left on my 1 year trip 2 weeks ago. Decided that a sturdy GPS from Garmin was the way to go, as I have now destroyed 2 phones using them for navigation.
After just 4 days on the road, the top pin in the charger was shredded.
With some help from a creative mechanic, we managed to press in a small piece of metal in the hole and it is now charging - but seriously Garmin.... this is a major product flaw! Who cares if the GPS is excellent if it's charging capabilities are that fragile!!!

Re: WARNING - Garmin Zumo XT hot-shoe connector weakness
hi. I was considering buying an xt until I saw this post. Is the pins problem still an issue ? Or should I stick with my 360 which also uses pins. Your thoughts on the matter would be welcome.

IMHO the XT is streets ahead of the 590, which is what I used to have. The pin problem can be solved either, I imagine, by Garmin's new lead, or by the cover discussed above.
