Thank you JFH. I do need to tidy up the XT files. I have quite a few routes with similar names.
Re. Map scales - I was surprised to see the mountains, valleys and magenta showing on the XT, a first time and I enjoyed it. I need to do a bit more research on the topic of map scale and features ...

XT - Map scales
Last week I took a 4 day ride (1,600km) from my home. During the trip, the daily routes (1,2,3,4) I had prepared in Basecamp, and loaded onto the XT’s micro-SD performed flawlessly over the mix of Shapings and Waypoints. Thank you to all forum members for help in educating me in BC and XT so far ...

Re: Route points - placement accuracy.
Thank you everyone for your informative thoughts and insights into point plotting accuracy.
I am gradually gaining confidence that points plotted on BC maps ‘to the best on my human ability’ and located wisely will generally provide for a successful route and trip.

Route points - placement accuracy.
An aspect of BC route building that has puzzled me since I began learning its use (still learning) is the accuracy of route point placements on the route map. By accuracy I mean route point placement location ref the magenta line.
I assume the Garmin road routes are positioned on a centreline that ...

Re: Renaming a trip on the XT
Not in a test that I just did. Renaming the route did not trigger a calculation.
If the route starts close to where you are and you haven't yet fixed it for RUT then a better option would be to load and start the route, then save it with the new name. (three dots > spanner > Save) The saved ...

Re: Renaming a trip on the XT
Thank you Peobody for your helpful, clear advice.
Your reply has also caused me to refer back to jfheath’s booklet; ‘Zumo and XT Planned Routes - everything that you needed to know’. It is such a convenient and complete source of operational XT info! (Thank you jfheath).

Renaming a trip on the XT
A question please.
Assume;
- I have loaded a Basecamp prepared Trip onto my XT.
- The Trip contains a mix of Via and Shaping points.
- Basecamp and XT have the latest updated maps.
- The BC and XT Trip name is “Day 1”.
If I want to change the “Day 1” trip name shown on the XT, to say “Longreach ...

Re: Preparing a new route using previous routes
Thank you Oop North John and others. My question generally asks if when adapting (borrowing) an existing BC route to make a new and different route, do XT’ers work on the duplicated trip route dialogue box (route points list) or manipulate the duplicated route map?
