An aspect of BC route building that has puzzled me since I began learning its use (still learning) is the accuracy of route point placements on the route map. By accuracy I mean route point placement location ref the magenta line.

I assume the Garmin road routes are positioned on a centreline that ...

Not in a test that I just did. Renaming the route did not trigger a calculation.

If the route starts close to where you are and you haven't yet fixed it for RUT then a better option would be to load and start the route, then save it with the new name. (three dots > spanner > Save) The saved ...

- I have loaded a Basecamp prepared Trip onto my XT.
- The Trip contains a mix of Via and Shaping points.
- Basecamp and XT have the latest updated maps.
- The BC and XT Trip name is “Day 1”.
