Re: Combined BC Map and Dialogue table.

What's a "route dialogue table", and what does it look like? These are foreign terms to me. It is the table/box that contains all the Route points; Via/Shaping/Start and End, with interval distances, times etc. ‘Dialogue boxes’ in computer speak are secondary boxes that can stay open in the bac ...

Re: Combined BC Map and Dialogue table.

The map will reflect changes made in the route table. The table will stay open and reflect changes made in the map window with the hand(pan) tool. So the map can be panned, zoomed, the route dragged around on the map, via/shaping points added (depending on drop location) or moved - all while the ...

Combined BC Map and Dialogue table.

When I am preparing a Route in BC, I switch often between the Map and the Route Dialogue table. It would be convenient if I could see both Map and Dialogue table together. I have been thinking of this for a while and how tedious it is to go back and forth esp. when checking route point locations on ...

Re: Making changes to a BC route on a Zumo XT

Thanks John and friends for helpful comments. I wrote: “The addition of route points straight onto the XT went well, and I travelled the route with no problems. A beautiful day too! :) Thank you for your help. Mikey” However, thinking about the Route I modified on the XT and rode, the route was not a ...

Re: Making changes to a BC route on a Zumo XT

@Mikey, were you able to tell whether the XT followed the Basecamp route except for the added points? Thanks for your interest Peobody, yes the Route was followed faithfully with the XT passing through the newly added route points (added in the XT). I travel to that particular town a couple of ...

Re: Making changes to a BC route on a Zumo XT

Thanks to rbentnail and Peobody,
I have just added a flagged route point - Via point, and a blue disc Shaping point directly on the XT map.
I am heading out on my machine shortly (R1250RS) and will see how that all goes.
Cheers, Mikey

Making changes to a BC route on a Zumo XT

I recall reading somewhere in the forum; it is risky to modify a Route on a Zumo XT that has been prepared and transferred from Basecamp. Recently, while preparing for a 180Km ride I wanted to insert a new Waypoint on such a route, in my XT. This made me wonder, if it is risky as above, is there a ...

Re: Route points: Some non-alerting, some alerting

Thank you ONJohn.

“especially a petrol station or viewpoint, and if there is, I make it into my own waypoint”

but you would need to make sure this Waypoint is moved to the centre of the magenta route, if not already, would you not?

Re: Route points: Some non-alerting, some alerting

That is interesting Colirv. I did not know that.
One of my forum learnings is to place route points on the desired outbound leg of an intersection, and generally not at the junction, so I take that approach. I hope I have that correct, I understand the reasoning behind it.
Thank you.
