Mesh would be a good idea, unfortunately my wife's helmet is a Shoei Neotec 2 with the SRL2 comms, which is Bluetooth only, so it looks like we're stuck with BT.

I think you hit the nail on the head when you said about missing the start point. Thinking back, I'm pretty sure I did. Would that have caused the strange Bluetooth behaviour though?
