Re: Zumo xt2 screen unresponsive
Good luck! I am sporting my 4th unit now (to give Garmin credit, they turn them round very quickly) and whilst in the past I have received a completely new boxed unit, this time it was just the head unit in a Jiffy bag. My take on this is that it will indeed be a refurbished unit where (hopefully) t...

Re: Zumo xt2 screen unresponsive
Well, Well, Well, I sort of knew it was too good to be true. My 3rd Sumo XT2 unit has started to have the dreaded screen freeze on my first good weather ride of the season. I did about 80 miles without a hitch then the screen froze (the classic symptoms of all the previous units) but continued to gi...

Re: Zumo xt2 screen unresponsive
Hi David, Sorry to hear you are having the same issues as I did. I am now on my 3rd XT2 unit and it appears to be behaving itself and not ghost pressing buttons or locking up. I share your disappointment that such an expensive unit is apparently very fragile and sensitive to vibration - who would ex...

Re: Zumo xt2 screen unresponsive
I’m really hoping I hit a golden Zumo one of these returns. I now have my 3rd Zumo XT2 and it seems to be OK for the time being. Took it for an hours ride and attempted to recreate my previous symptoms of ghost selections. It is holding up fine. I have pretty low expectations. If this one dies, I th...

Re: Zumo xt2 screen unresponsive - again
So, I was hoping that the software update 4.40 would make my XT2 behave but it is still randomly locking up (although I still hear music and directions) but I have to stop and perform a soft reset for it to come back to life and the screen to function as a touch screen. The speed related random butt...

Re: Zumo xt2 screen unresponsive
That is really interesting. I have also noticed that at certain vibrations (speed and gear like you stated) my screen makes its own selections of either back to the main screen or menu selection corresponding to the bottom left and bottom right portion of the screen. I noticed that it is as if the s...

Re: Zumo xt2 screen unresponsive
Yes, I got a replacement and they were really good at turning it round. The new unit seems fine so far although I have only done a few rides thanks to the great British summer 😂. I have noticed that sometimes the screen will switch itself from Nav screen to the main menu screen, hoping that this isn...

Re: Zumo xt2 screen unresponsive
That’s interesting, I thought it might be a vibration issue. My one failed 2 hours into a ride but it was pretty cool with no real heat.

Re: Zumo xt2 screen unresponsive
I’m afraid I haven’t heard of anything in the reboot, restart, reset realm that has ever fixed this issue so I suspect it’s a return ticket to Garmin I’m afraid. How many miles have you done with it?

Re: Zumo xt2 screen unresponsive
Hi, I’m sorry to hear of your screen issue. I have my replacement and it appears to be working OK but only done a couple of short rides with it so far. I was wondering if it was a vibration issue too, I have a CB500X which is quite a “buzzy” twin and the vibration at the handlebar mount. They were v...
