Re: The Zumo XT screen works great in sunlight

The only ghosting I get is in the rain, and it does it with or without the film.

Re: The Zumo XT screen works great in sunlight

It certainly does! I put a cheap matte plastic phone screen protector on mine. Doesn't affect screen visibility much but it does cut down on the glare and sun reflection.

Re: Fun with shaping a route on the XT

I gave up long ago trying to figure out how to shape a route on my XT. It never seems to behave the same way twice. I'll either just make a new route on the device, or I'll pick a spot I want to go to while a route is active and tell it to make it the next stop.

Re: Drive app (Android) fails to login and connect

AFAIK I do NOT have an email associated with my Garmin account, only a user name and password.

FWIW, logging in to your account on garmin.com prompts for an email address and password. Perhaps it was once possible to create an account with just a username and password but email address is not ...

Re: Drive app (Android) fails to login and connect

The Drive app on my phone wants to "reset the Bluetooth on my phone" to connect to my XT. Then it wants my email and password for my Garmin acct. AFAIK I do NOT have an email associated with my Garmin account, only a user name and password. Who knows? I just keep getting "invalid sign in". So I went ...

Re: Drive app (Android) fails to login and connect

Wish I had an answer for you but I'm having problems with Drive as well. Sometimes lately it won't connect. To me not that big a deal but I have gotten used to having traffic and weather info. Another thing- I'll be 8 or 10 miles away from my XT at work and Drive spontaneously tries to connect.

I ...

Re: Music player

I have 4000+ songs on my SD card in an mp3 folder. I usually at random and when I do, it always starts with the same song- Day Job by The Gin Blossoms. After that it's random.

Re: Loading BC GPX files into XT3

I don't have an XT3, only a simple 396, but would like to share my method for what I do with a BaseCamp gpx file data to my 396.
my method might also works on an XT3 but my method is BaseCamp to Zumo unit via the PC Windows 11 then USB wired to the 396
On Base Camp, highlight the library section ...

Re: Can I use a 128 GB SD card

I've never had any luck formatting a card and then inserting it. For the last few, I installed it new and let the unit format it. Dunno if the 396 will do that but the 595 and XT1 do.

Re: 5 GHz Wi-Fi

Personally, I've blocked wi-fi because I do not want to risk an unexpected update. A new map can force your planned routes to recalculate when loaded.

I too blocked wifi except at home for updates. I got tired of the XT looking for updates every time I pulled up somewhere with wifi and I turned ...
