Re: NT2020.1

Well that didn't work either. This time I’ve formatted the sd card, so let’s see what happens next Garmin's kind of goofy with SD card formatting. I never had any luck doing it on my computer then installing it in the device. I was always better off buying a new card, putting it in right from the p...

Re: Male connector

I went (I think) through the same thing with my 595. The connection on the device itself is a USB-B mini. The connection on the cradle seems to be slightly different as a USB-B does not fit. As far as I could tell, it's Garmin proprietary.

Re: Garmin Express Update failed

Have you considered: open GE and click the settings gear. In General Settings, check the box about running in the background and in Schedule settings, click a box for automatic update time. Just wondering if it will make a difference. It seems to have with my PC. Haven't had a GE update problem in a...

Re: Can I use Google Maps to create a route?

can you not alter the settings in google to avoid interstates? we have a tick box to avoid motorways is that the same? Don't know about avoidances in Google maps but, being limited to only 10 shaping points severely limits the custom routing. When you use them up Google automatically routes however...

Re: Can I use Google Maps to create a route?

The one thing I found annoying about Google maps is the limited number of shaping points allowed, 10 I think. If riding across my state at least 3 different routes are required because of this to maintain the route I want instead of being automatically dumped onto an interstate. Base Camp has no suc...

Re: Zumo 595 lost the maps whilst on holiday

We are touring in France, 2 days ago after a coffee I tried to turn the zumo back on but it didn't respond, I pulled and refitted the battery, it powered up and said maps updated.... It completely screwed the maps, France no longer existed! We used a map to travel the next 120 miles to our hotel. T...

Re: Routes and Waypoints

Seems to me that there is a bit of confusion here. rbentnail's idea of swapping in SD cards for trips is a good one. But when he says "waypoints" it seems that he means the waypoints that make up the routes. They are part of the routes and come into the 595 when the routes are imported. "Waypoints"...

Re: Zumo 595 thoughts after 1500km (1000 mile tour)

'skip next destination' is in the Change route menu in Map Tools. When I select Settings/Map & Vehicle/Map Tools I am sent to "Select Map Tools". I am given a checkbox for turning on or off Change Route. That is, I can add it or remove it from the "Quick" tools button. But I cannot 'skip next desti...
