- 8 Waypoints set as Via Points - no shaping points
- All Route points given a name starting a number 01, .... , 08.
- The XT2 is not linked to the Tread App for this test

- To see if the route changes
- To see whether route points move
- To observe different behaviour between Via and Shaping Point
- To see if there is a difference when Waypoints are used instead of ad-hoc route points
- To observe any differences if Tread is involved.
The Results
- Pic 1: Shows the original route point data compared witht he list from the XT2 screen immediately after importing the route.
- Pic 1: All Via Points ahve retained the name given to the waypoints.
- Pic 2: The Via point flags which are part of the route coincide with the yellow waypoints

Route 04 - 8 Waypoints, all Set as Via Points - Tread Active
Ater Synching Route 04 with Tread.
- The route contains 8 Via Points and no shaping points
- No waypoints are used in this route - but waypoints are used on the display to show the original locations of the route points.
- The Route was imported and allowed to synch
- Not all syncronisation happens immediately so I waited and then forced synch on the phone app AND on the XT2.
- Waited for at least two orange Explore synch symbols and two blue circle synch symbols
- Android Tread version 3.00.06 17 Feb 2026
The Results - Tread Active
- Pic 3: Shows that the via point names are altered.
- Pic 4: Shows that all via points seem to be in the correct location relative to the waypoint markers.
- Pic 4: Shows the route is plotted along the roads that I intended
- Pic 5: Shows a close up of the area where the previous test route ahd moved to the M6. No such change here.
- The route has not changed much at all. Further inspection revelaed that route points HAD moved - but only slightly - 0.01 minutes longitude. About 1.5 metres !

The list of 8 Waypoints created in Basecamp - and set as Vias
The XT2 list showing the same 8 Via Points
Pic 4: Route 04 - Map showing the entire route.
The Via point flagpoles all seem to be planted in the top of the Waypoint triangle. It looks promising in this view - but zoom in to check on the likely suspected changes. See Pic 5.
