Sometimes will the Zumo 590LM not boot up, when the motorcycle ignition is on.
This not help to remove it from the cradle and try to press on the main switch behind the unit.
This is completely dead with black screen.
Only way to wake up the unit, is to remove the internal battery for few seconds.
This happen (in average) every 5 times. eg. 5 times with ignition om, the unit boot perfectly up. the 6th is dead.
The unit is updated with the latest updates and maps from Garmin (Garmin Express ver. 6.21.0.0)
Are this boot issue a known problem?

Re: Strange boot problem
I sometimes had this problem. Have you done a battery repair per this thread -> viewtopic.php?f=12&t=2
It looks like it won't boot up but actually what happened to me:
- I was not turning the unit OFF. I was only putting it in STAND BY. You have to press and hold the power button a long time for OFF;
- in STAND BY, the battery is drained;
- then the unit will not come on until the battery charges some.
By removing and reinserting the battery, it sounds like the unit now senses enough charge so it will come on. So back to the original question. Have you done a battery repair?
