Bonjour a tout from South West France. Just acquired a BMWR1250RT which came with a ZUMO 660. Hopefully the wealth of experience on here will help me get the best out of the unit and pass on advice and tips.. Shiney side up 8-)

Depends on the individual and his/her/its needs. I think yes, others don't

IMO, Basecamp is the most powerful featurefull routeplanning software available bar none. That said, many people feel it has a steep learning curve. I believe that any comprehensive software is going to require an investment in time to learn it. That's why we at New England Riders created our Basecamp tutorials and other GPS learning documents. One can follow the turorial and in 3 - 4 hours become profecient at Basecamp - if they follow the tutorial and don't skip over anything.

I use Basecamp for all my route planning. It took a bit of time to get my head around it but with the help of you tube videos I can get my routes onto my Z660.
