It looks like Basecamp Mac 4.8.8.0 is now available.

Changes made from version 4.8.7 to 4.8.8:
Fixed incorrect routing for certain European maps
Increased scale value precision when specifying a Custom Grid
Fixed errors when reading poi images from a GPI file
Fixed rendering issues with 3D maps on MacOS Catalina

I am in the middle of a project so haven't been brave enough to install it yet.

Works perfect now with 2020.30 Maps. No more straight lines.
