This time I’ve formatted the sd card, so let’s see what happens next
Garmin's kind of goofy with SD card formatting. I never had any luck doing it on my computer then installing it in the device. I was always better off buying a new card, putting it in right from the package and let the device do its magic on its own. Yours may be different obviously but the 595 recognizes and asks if you want to format it.

Hope you formatted it FAT32?

If you have the map on your PC MapSource can send the map to your device.

Finally!

Yes I reformatted it in Fat32 (whatever that is) but I did it whilst installed in the 660 and hooked up to the PC

Ran it overnight, and this time it’s all working.

What a performance, I’ve never had this kind of problem in 20 years of owning Garmins.

Thanks it’s really had me scratching my head. I’ll know next time.

Now I’m playing about with the Camper 760 to see if I can get it to accept my POI file in the main options box rather than just in the favourites slot.

I think I know what I want it to do but I’m being careful not to undo something I need
