I was just on the Garmin forum and found this discussion about a quiet release of GE 7.28.1.0: https://forums.garmin.com/apps-software ... n-7-28-1-0

GE 7.28.1.0 is indeed what comes down via the download link at https://www.garmin.com/en-US/software/express/windows/. There is no announcement on the Garmin forum though. This post is FYI only. I have not installed it nor have I run GE to see if an automatic update occurs as described in the forum post. I'm still running 7.24 under the 'if it ain't broke, don't fix it' philosophy. I sure hope an update is not forced.

When I tried to open my Express, I got the update popup.... so I guess I'll update and see what happens.

Ok, so that is normal. The Garmin forum post I linked to contained concerning comments that GE was updating automatically. I'm glad that is not the case.

GE 7.28.1.0 was announced on the Garmin forum on May14 sometime after I started this discussion. That announcement contained one release note:
